WINERCOST Action has been successfully completed with the organisation of the International WINERCOST’18 Conference that took place together with the AEOLUS4FUTURE H2020 ITN Conference 21-23 March 2018 in Catanzaro, Italy. During these 3 days, more than 85 specialists from Wind Energy, Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Architecture and Social Sciences participated with lectures at the WINERCOST’18 Conference. The participants exchanged knowledge and expertise on high performance wind energy systems focusing on the Mediterranean area, the respective emerging technologies, as well as they discussed relevant topics as is the strategy of societal acceptance of the sustainable energy technologies, They also had the change to visit four Aeolian farms around Calabria and discuss with the local authorities on practical aspects related to the Wind Energy projects. The great success of the International WINERCOST’18 Conference and of the WINERCOST Action has been confirmed with the decision of the participants and members of the Management Committee of the WINERCOST Action to proceed fast in the very near future towards the development of the European Network of High Performance Wind Energy Systems to Enhance Urban Resilience having as partners ALL 36 COST Member countries.
